Walk Exmoor Weekend - Porlock Pilgrim's Trail

Our new walking weekend will take place on March 27th to 29th, 2026. The weekend will offer routes suitable to walkers of all abilities, from long-distance enthusiasts to families and day-visitors.

The routes will follow the Pilgrim’s Trail and offer an ideal opportunity to experience early spring in the wild and untouched landscape of Exmoor. All walkers will receive the Pilgrim’s Trail guidebook which they can stamp at each of the historic churches and chapels as a memento of their adventure.

The cost of the weekend is £15 per person – which includes:

an individual complimentary copy of the Porlock Pilgrim’s Trail guidebook with

detailed route descriptions of all the walks,

and downloadable .gpx routes for all the walks.

There will also be events taking place in Porlock over the weekend including a 'walkers' meal' on Friday night.

There will be five walks, all on the Pilgrim’s Trail:

  • The 29 mile complete Pilgrim’s Trail (challenging)

  • Two 15 mile half-circuits, east and west, making the complete Pilgrim’s Trail (moderate/demanding)

  • An 8 mile circular walk visiting Lynch Chapel of Ease and Selworthy Church (easy)

  • A 7 mile circular walk visiting Porlock Weir's Tin Tabernacle and Culbone Church (easy)

Walkers have all weekend to enjoy the Trail, the village of Porlock and Exmoor.
Which route to take and how far to walk is entirely up to each walker.

You will find a great selection of accommodation on the Porlock village website (porlock.co.uk/stay/).

The weekend will be run by Porlock Pilgrim's Trail and Porlock Parish Council.

Porlock Pilgrim's Trail has received financial support from the Exmoor National Park Partnership Fund.
